How We Can HelpOptimise Physio is here to help your body feel great, move freely and perform at your physical best. We help our community, throughout their entire lifespan, to live full and active lives.
No matter what age you’re at, Optimise physio can be there for you along life’s journey. Whether you have an adolescent at home with growing pains, or you are experiencing neck stiffness from your desk job, a CrossFit injury from doing a muscle-up, knee pain from returning to exercise after kids, or general aches and pains which you are putting down to “old age”, we can help! Our Physiotherapists will use their expert knowledge of the human body and highly specialised skills to assess, diagnose and treat the root cause of pain and injuries, and can provide rehabilitation solutions to relieve pain, restore physical function and optimise performance and wellbeing. Our relaxed, friendly staff ensure the highest standard of care is delivered to each and every client in our clinic. We’ll map out your rehabilitation programme and set goals and objectives that will help your recovery – whether that be following your surgery, following your weekend sporting activities or your difficulty performing normal daily activities. We use Physitrack, the latest technology in prescribing and tracking your individualised exercise programme. Just download the free PhysiApp client app to follow perfect form exercise videos and report back your progress. No problem is too big or too small for us to handle! WHAT TO EXPECT
At your first appointment, the physiotherapist will take a detailed account of your problem or reason for attending. You will be asked some questions about your issue, how it started and how it is impacting you, as well as other general health questions. A physical examination will then be performed to accurately assess and diagnose your problem. The most appropriate treatment plan will then be discussed with you to reach your specific goals, before treatment begins. You will be advised on the estimated recovery time and self-management for a speedy return to full fitness. WHAT WILL THE PHYSIOTHERAPY TREATMENT INVOLVE?
As the name suggests physiotherapy is the application of physical therapies. This means that most of what is done involves use of the physio’s hands – mobilisation, massage, stretching, taping and manipulation – in conjunction with exercises, posture re-education, video analysis and movement retraining. WILL I NEED TO SEE ANYONE ELSE?
At times your physio may suggest referral to another discipline if it is likely to assist resolution of your symptoms, including radiology, a GP or specialist. This can be done directly by your physio. DO I NEED A REFERRAL FROM MY GP?
Physiotherapists are a first contact practitioner, so a GP referral is not required for consultation. Physiotherapy uses a variety of advanced clinical assessment and treatment techniques to help your muscles and joints work to their full potential. Your physiotherapist will use their expert knowledge of the human body and highly specialised skills to help aid the healing process and reduce pain and stiffness. By diagnosing muscle imbalances and restoring normal biomechanics, physiotherapy can help prevent further pain and injury. HOW CAN I GET THE MOST FROM MY PHYSIO SESSION?
It is important to us that you get all your questions answered and leave with a clear diagnosis and action plan to resolve your problem. We recommend that you ask your physio the following questions:
