Practice Director, Senior Physiotherapist
I founded Optimise Physio in 2010 with the aim of introducing a holistic style of physiotherapy to Hawke’s Bay. Not a day goes by where I don’t see the enormous impact that stress and lifestyle factors play in illness and pain, which is why I have spent the last ten years immersing myself in Mind-Body Medicine.
In my day-to-day work, I most enjoy spending time with my clients; getting to know them and understanding how they tick and how best I can help them with their needs. I am not afraid to talk to you about your nutrition, your fitness goals, the worries that you may be having or anything else for that matter!
Outside of work, I enjoy Hockey and making the most of the Hawke’s Bay outdoor lifestyle.
Clinical Director, Senior Physiotherapist
I oversee clinical outcomes at Optimise Physio ensuring that we continue to get the very best results for our clients and to stay ‘top of our game’. I am an avid learner and enjoy nothing more that researching and learning the very best ways to help people get out of pain, recover from injury and return to living a full and active life.
What I most enjoy about my work is being able to take a broad approach when it comes to helping my clients achieve success by addressing the key factors impacting their condition- be it nutrition, sleep deprivation, high-stress levels, incorrect or incomplete injury education and management, or lack of fitness and conditioning.
When I am not at work, I am a passionate piano player, love long-distance chats with my Irish whānau, and enjoy exploring the Hawke’s Bay trails.
Physiotherapist, Pain and Injury Rehabilitation
Having just recently moved back to Hawke’s Bay, I am excited about working with my local community and giving back;
sharing my knowledge and working through a holistic approach so you can “live your best life”.
I enjoy being able to make a positive impact with the clients that I am privileged to work with, helping individuals from all walks of life become empowered in their journey towards improving health and well-being. I also believe in bringing fun back into movement and am always looking for new ideas and challenges.
Senior Physiotherapist, Musculoskeletal Rehabilitation
Having been away from NZ for so long (16 years at last count!), it's great to back in familiar home surroundings! Although originally from Whanganui, my family are quickly settling into a fab life in the beautiful Hawkes Bay.
I completed my physiotherapy training at Otago University in 2000. I have worked in the field of musculoskeletal physiotherapy for a long time and I have a passion for helping the everyday person to return to their previous activities. I firmly believe physiotherapy should involve a hands on approach but I compliment this with exercise based therapy and acupuncture. I have worked extensively in helping people to return to work after injuries and illnesses and love the challenge of being able to help them achieve their goals.
With two young kids, my life away from work is full on with kids activities and sports, but I still enjoy keeping fit through cycling, running and playing social sports.
Clinic Co-Ordinator and Claims Officer
I share the reception role with Jane and we both work together to ensure our clients receive the right treatment at the right time to help them get out of pain and return to living an active life. I enjoy making life easy for our clients and our team by ensuring that the behind-the-scenes paper work is taken care of. Having ran my own successful business in the past, I know exactly what is needed to achieve an outstanding service.
“Love their service! The best ever!!!”
